Prof. Oladokun Sulaiman Olanrewaju

Prof. Dr. Sulaiman Olanrewaju Oladokun, CEng, CMarEng Prof. Dr. Oladokun is a scientist at Alfred Wegener Institute. He is conducting research on marine aquaculture, shelf sea system and ecology with the purpose to build a sustainable future. He is a Visiting Professor at Multimedia University. He is the Director of SeaNexus. Prior he was a guest Professor under Theodore Von Karman Fellow at RWTH Aachen University.He was a Visiting Professor at Cranfield University, UK, an Associate Professor of Ocean Engineering and Marine Technology at the University Malaysia Terengganu, a Senior Visiting Fellow at the University of Wollongong, Australia, and a Guest Lecturer at the University of Hawaii and the Technical University of Cologne. He is developing inland, coastal, and offshore aquaculture farming technology and related circular blue and green products. He has over 20 years of diverse academic and professional background in marine aquaculture, nature-based solutions, and climate change adaptation. He also specializes in safety / environmental risk and reliability for maritime and ocean systems, integration of marine energy and environment, sustainable maritime technology system design, and inland water transportation system technology. He has researched aquaculture and sea farming technology, offshore and near coastal aquaculture engineering systems, seaweed farming technology, marine hybrid alternative energy system, greenhouse gas emission inventory from the marine system and climate change control technology, seaweed base marine biofuel, seaweed marine biotech applications including material, food, health, animal feed, soil remediation, bioremediation, climate change, and resilient technology systems. He started his career as an engineering officer on a ship. He has taught and mentored marine courses and research projects on contemporary maritime and ocean engineering issues and has authored and co-authored over 180 publications and 12 books. He has filed a patent on research work related to seaweed aquaculture technology. Prof. Dr. Oladokun is also an editorial board member, reviewer, and on the scientific committee of several international journals. He has served in several working groups, technical committees, conferences, UN rulemaking for inland water transportation, sustainable energy, disaster risk reduction, and water convention.

Prof. Akira Nishimura

Mie University Japan

Dr. Akira Nishimura is an associate professor in Division of Mechanical Engineering at Mie University, Japan. He received the B.S. Eng., the M.S. Eng. and Dr. Eng. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Nagoya University, Japan in 1995, 1997 and 2000, respectively. He worked at Center for Integrated Research in Science and Engineering, Nagoya University as research associate from 2000 to 2002. He moved to Mie University in 2002 as an assistant professor and promoted to associate professor from 2014. He has published 97 journal papers which are reviewed. His current researches are smart city utilizing renewable energy actively, CO2 reduction by photocatalyst, H2 production from biogas, clarification on heat and mass transfer mechanism of polymer electrolyte fuel cell.
